The Arts Company, located in Historic Downtown Seneca South Carolina, and established in 1994, represents the work of over 100 local, regional, and national Artisans in the spacious 2500 square foot display floor. Within the store is “The Gallery” which features exhibits of work of local artists on a changing basis.

Built in 1917, our building was originally used by T.M. Lowery as a livery for the sales of buggies, wagons, horses and mules. The first gasoline-powered car in the area was displayed in the N. First Street window. The store today features the original heart pine floors and metal ceiling tiles.

The combination of history and today’s artistry makes The Arts Company a truly unique experience.

 Biography

Beth Andrews was influenced by a family filled with needleworkers and painters. In 1999, a friend convinced Beth to try quilting. Recently retired from a career in telecommunications R&D, the mathematics and precision of traditional piecework appealed to Beth as she gained confidence in her color sense and design. Beth has won ribbons at various quilt shows, has displayed her work in various public places, and lives in a padded house. Beth is an active member of Foothills Piecemakers Quilt Guild and Quilters of South Carolina.

Artist Statement: As I began designing fiber art, I received advice that has served me well: "Listen to the quilt, and it will tell you what it needs." I often have several pieces in progress on my design wall. Over time, they reveal themselves ... if I listen with my eyes.

The Artist Spotlight this month is focussed on local artist Beth Andrews. The Gallery room opens its new show, May 22th to May 15th at The Arts Company.
